So now that the WTAC posts are over and done with, we will keep things rolling with a bit of a ‘cruise’.

Back in 2005, a few friends/enthusiasts from around Australia decided to make a trip to the Northern Territory. Now back then, remember there was no speed limits, so what better place to test the limits of their cars….legally. A photographer or two usually gets roped in to capture the whole experience, which makes for some beautiful shots!

Similar trips were then done in 2006 and 2007, however since then no trips have occurred due to a number of reasons.

With the owners choosing their weapons of choice (some had more then 1 to choose from!), all cars were then freighted from their respective states, all but one, the blue M3. Reason behind this was that the owner only decided 2 weeks prior that he would be attended, and it was too late to rearrange freight.

Once again it was Perth based photographer Jan Glovac who got the opportunity. The following are his photos and description.

After unloading the cars on the Friday morning, the group made some last minute adjustments to their cars before a quick trip to Glen Helen.

You will see in this last photo that there was another car there, a yellow Lotus Esprit. The owner trucked the car there, however 2 days before ended up in hospital from food poisoning!

Over the 3 days, approximately 2000 kilometres were covered.

The blue M3 continued on its way under its own power. In its round trip, it covered 7178 kilometres, and ate 739 litres of fuel, and the car didn’t skip a beat once, while keeping a good pace! A true car enthusiast.
