On the 1st of February, Ausgarage held their inaugural Motor Show at the RNA Showgrounds in Brisbane. They asked Downshift along to host some of the best cars sout-east Queensland has to offer, so we did just that.
Trev’s gold GTR running a 2.8L RB with just over 600hp on twins garnered a lot of attention.
There was a large range of vehicles, trade stands and demos on display. With cars ranging from the track oriented, both street registered and dedicated…
…including Roger Lago’s Lamborghini which he raced in last weekend’s Bathurst 12 hour…
…drift…
…to full blown drag cars like this 20B turbo-powered FD.
The classic/exotic and supercar stand had some impressive and simply beautiful pieces of machinery on hand.
Ferdinand arrived in his new purchase that he found on unique car sales.
Tagging along with Anouk who brought out another 911.
This 1964 Ferrari 330 GT was very cool to see. First time I’ve ever seen one. Beautiful colour.
Let’s not forget some of the more modern supercar appearances.
Whilst it wasn’t eligible for any awards due to being so special, and more of a ‘display icon’ this was car of the year for me: a genuine 300SL Gullwing. Let us all take a moment.
Around $2m worth of cars sitting back to back.
There were some extremely well presented street cars on display.

57ING was out in his 2.4L Evo.
There were a few trade stalls on display showing their wares including Mercury Motorsport.

There was also an RC demo and motorcross demo all day.
HI RPM was a very high contender for Best Engine Bay.
Scott Paddy won Best Classic with his immaculately presented Datsun sedan.
Hypo 9 won Best Interior.
Coming back over to the Downshift Premiere Alley we had some incredible cars on display, starting with Rossi’s bagged Chevy Impala.
Foy and Alex brought out their immaculately presented civics. Both cars are tracked regularly.

BND OVR for this S15.
A bit of classic love with this ’71 GTX skyline.
Sitting right beside GODZLR the well known 850hp R34 GTR. GODZLR also won the prize on the day for Best Paint.
Kyle had his H3KTIC S15 out.
James’ bagged polo on Regas is a welcome member of the Downshift family.
SKYLRK came out of hibernation and took out Best Engine Bay (of which I don’t have a photo, best trust me, it’s boss!).

The winner Car of the Show was also part of the Downshift display with Nick’s absolutely flawless R32 GTR. 600hp. A 10 second time slip under its belt, E85, street driven, full leather interior, and attention to detail of the gods, this Godzilla is jaw dropping.
