The 2015 Bathurst 12 hour was my first visit to the event, and my first time to Bathurst actually. I watch the V8s at Bathurst 1000 every year, and so had an image in my mind as to what the B12hr would be like.. Was I wrong or what. I was thinking VBs and burnout central. In a way I was a little disappointed, but then what followed really surprised me. The B12hr did very well to cater for families and motor enthusiasts. Even my girlfriend loved it! They had all sorts of races and shows to see.

Being my first time to the B12hr I had no idea who the drivers were nor the amount of cars. There were 35 manufactures, 55 cars about about 3 drivers per team. That makes for a ton of excitement.

There were some other races in between like Formula Ford and Radical Sportscars, which are little Hayabusa-powered fibreglass rockets!

Behind the pit straight grandstand there was a huge show-n-shine which had everything from supercars, luxury, classic muscle, JDM and a stack of Ducatis.

Sunday started pretty early, but it’s easy wake up when you camp behind the pits and your alarm clock consists of 55 supercars.

Hell corner is a great spot to see the beginning of the race. You see the cars launch up the mountain and the sunrise in the distance, not to mention the sound, oh the sound!

Another great spot is the top of the mountain. With the height of the mountain it’s hard to believe the drivers don’t look over at the view.

I only learnt that weekend about Nissan not finishing in 2014. So with that in mind and the fact that they were the only Japanese team in their class I kept my eye out on their progress.

The sounds these cars made were incredible. I now really want a Bentley.

There aren’t many more exciting corners than the back end of Mt Panorama.
