Today, we took a journey through time.

DS Does Japan - Toyota Automobile Museum

We headed down with Toyota Australia to the Toyota Automobile Museum. Don’t let the name fool you though, this is a true walk through history covering a wide range of makes and models.

We’ve divided the coverage into historic Toyotas, and other manufacturers in this article.

The Benz Patent-Motorwagen, built in 1886, is widely regarded as the first automobile.

Of course, the 1909 Ford Model T. More than 15 million of these were built! It has a 2.9L 20hp motor, but only weighs 660kg.

Known as the world’s first true sports car because of its handling and performance, the Hispano-Suiza Alfonso XIII was built in Spain in 1912.

The Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport, built in 1930.

1932 Datsun Model 11 Phaeton. This is the oldest surviving Datto in the world. It has a 722cc motor, capable of 12hp at 3000rpm, pushing 444kg of mass.
