Al runs the show at his business, Al Palmer Repairs located in Penrith, Western Sydney. This year was the 15th motor show. It all began because the guys in the Toyota club were saying there was no show for them in Sydney. With some assistance from the Toyota head office Al started the show and has been going strong since.

Trained by Toyota in the late 60’s Al’s love for Toyotas began. He was promoted to be a boss but sitting behind a desk just wasn’t his thing. In 1974 he found a little factory where he could be back on the tools again.

I had heard of the event over the years from the Radrollaz crew. This year it was time to see it for myself. Here are some tidy examples from the show

Jason Lowe’s 4AGE powered KE20 won best engine bay.

Kaushal’s very tidy KE30 won best interior and peoples choice. Nice touch with the set of lawn bowls in the back.

Parked outside to lower the competition was Gregor’s KE10 with 7k EFI.

This TA22 Celica looks like it just rolled off the production line. No wonder it won best paint job.

I have such a soft spot for old Toyotas. It was awesome seeing them all together in one spot. See you again next year Al.
