WTAC 2011: Drifting
When World Time Attack Challenge landed in 2010, they hosted the Tectaloy International Drift Challenge as well, bringing all of the once heroed pro drifters of the Australian D1 circuit together again, as well as some of the finest from the D1NZ stable. For the 2011 WTAC it was no different, but they decided to expand the roster for this year’s drifting challenge. I have to admit it was a good feeling seeing professional drifting showcased once more at the highest calibre on Australian shores.

March Early Morning Slide Session
Unfortunately I missed the first morning drift session held in February, unsure why I missed it but I was quite annoyed that I did. I made up for it by trekking out to the March session and as always it was an awesome way to spend a morning. The only shitty thing is that I live on the wrong side of town for trying to avoid traffic on the way out to Queensland Raceway. So to get there by 8am I have to leave mine at around 6am which does suck but once you get there it is all worth it. Nothing like the smell of burnt rubber to wake you up in the morning.

Phwoar!
Some of you may or may not know of a bro named Sam Meredith aka Mez, but for those who do you will no doubt know where I am going with this article. Mez has always been at the forefront of proper film coverage of events and cars in general. I have posted many of his vids on here but lately he has not been producing any footage or vids and I was unsure as to why. Earlier this year he spoke to me about a DVD he was making called Wreck ‘Em, I knew he had done a few properly badass shoots (including an epic shoot of Todds frankly off tap black wide body S13) but I was definitely not ready for what he had planned, this trailer and this DVD to come are going to be nothing short of amazing.

One Foggy Friday
The usual Monday or Tuesday drift sessions were moved to a Friday morning out of the blue; I guess it was just to change things up. I do however think Friday wasn’t the best idea, since asking your boss for the day off on Friday will probably end up in him laughing and telling you to “..get the fuck out”. Consequently, the turnout was a lot smaller, but the quality and atmosphere was still there.
