    Club High Rollers Dyno Day

Unlike America, the car crew/club culture is much smaller here in Australia. All of the best builds coming out of the states tend to always be in some form of club or crew which I think is awesome as it means you roll to shows and meets together as well as having your own get togethers. It is also an easy way to get yourself recognised because if you are affiliated with the well known car crews then everyone is going to want to smell your shit. Things are a little different here in Australia but the same effect is still undertaken when cars are associated with certain clubs, one of them in particular is Club High Rollers.

    Mercury Motorsports Charity Dyno Day

Mercury Motorsport hosted their flood charity dyno day on 26 February 2011. As all proceeds were to be donated, I was happy to help out in whatever way I could.

    Don’t Hate, Appreciate

This all came about after attending the absolutely massive Hi Torque Performance Dyno Day that was held last weekend. Hi Torque are primarily known for their work on Holdens and Falcons, by work I mean “1000hp? No worries mate”. The line up for the event had at least 8 cars all apparently making over 1000hp at the rear wheels. That is frankly ridiculous. No car under 500rwhp was to be run on the day, and they stayed relatively true to this with the lowest reading being 485rwhp. Which is definitely nothing to ignore.

  • It’s All About The Numbers

    It’s All About The Numbers

…a saying usually said by those who don’t believe in dyno comps. They say drag and circuit are like a drug; once you start you can’t stop. I get the feeling building a dominant dyno car gives the same feeling to those who do it. Sinking crazy dollars into engine builds and cars just so they can run on what is a replication of a road going situation seems kinda dumb. I personally think it is stupid, but hey, there seems to be a competition for it so why not? Safer, for sure, but also somewhat less skillful. In the end though, it will still yield the same bragging rights as any other form of car use. So it seems simple enough, yeah?
