My good friend Sharpy invited me out to shoot the Classic vs Plastic drag day at Willowbank for the Club High Rollers guys. The full set is available on my flickr, as always. Click any image for the jump.
The timing could certainly have been better, with gates opening at 12:30, it was the hottest, most brutal part of the day.
This Mazda 3 started off the day’s racing, but didn’t have much luck. One of the rear brakes locked up, putting it into the wall. Luckily only minor damage was sustained, but the day was over the for the guys.
Some stylish, as well as fast cars from CHR.
I believe this car has been around the scene for nigh on a decade, and used to run 11s back in the day.
Notsureifsrs…
White is such a classic colour for an R34 GTR. Love.
After inhaling much tyre smoke and getting sunburnt in a space of an hour, I took a break. Conveniently, some oil was down on the track, so I didn’t miss any of the racing. I did peep some very impressive cars however.
On its first run, this R32 ran a 9.5sec pass at 153mph, and was instantly kicked off due to lack of regulation cage, parachute, etc etc.
A logical progression when you have 500hp at the wheels on pump fuel.
I’ll finish off with my favourite shot of the day. Thanks for the smoke show Sharpy :)
