What used to be a fortnightly event has now turned into a weekly tradition for car modifiers around Brisbane to meet, greet, and show off their rides at Harry’s Diner on Newmarket Rd in Windsor. My name is Bryce Jarrett, I’m 18 years old, have been a car enthusiast since I could walk and have always felt comfortable with having a camera in my hands, so why not blend the two together and share it with the world! Hopefully you guys dig my photos and I can keep posting more and more content for everyone to see and share with their friends, so don’t be shy on telling me what you think of my photography (and writing) skills because it’s the only way I am going to improve – or stay as awesome as I am if you guys like me that much (keep on dreaming buddy…). Anyway, that’s enough about me time for some cars! :D
I rocked up quite early to this meet so there were only a few cars around, one of them being this clean Godzilla who was also one of the last cars to leave.
Since I had to come straight from work to Harry’s and only had a 5 hour shift so I wasn’t allowed a proper lunch break my stomach was eating itself… and my brain, apparently, as I drove right past Harry’s without even realising it untill I was approaching the Holden dealership thinking “that wasn’t there last time” – so I ordered myself a Harry’s Dog, smashed it in approximately 18.7 seconds, sculled my sarsaparilla in about half that time, then got back to shooting the cars..!
As you can see the meet isn’t restricted to newer model cars, plenty of people rep the old skool flag!
But on the flip side there are some quality modern cars roaming the car park such as this R35 GT-R. I honestly don’t see how people find these cars ugly, sure it’s gone for a different approach compared to the R34, but I think it’s a good thing that the R35 was designed to be something completely new and refreshing rather than being just an updated R34.
Seems like he also H8s cleaning…
Good to see some Euro cars reppin’ it and doing it in style – I don’t usually like Boxters because I think they look a bit girly or a bit mid-life-crisisy, but this particular one caught my eye with it’s nice choice of wheels and aggressive looking bodykit… I like aggressive!
I wish I saw more Evos on the road because I think these things look mean as! I haven’t always been into Evo VIIs either but they’re really growing on me lately – I guess when people do them up as nicely as this one it’s no surprise why I am starting to really like them.
Wait, evowut? Where ever there’s an Evo there’s a Rex waiting to pounce… actually, this particular example is my mum’s! I converted her over to the turbo tribe, but the car isn’t finished yet – she is currently chasing a carbon fibre front lip, I am trying to persuade her to get a carbon boot lip, get moar lowz and an aftermarket turbo kit hehe. :P
I wonder if the decal on the windshield means this thing would have some grunt under the hood…
Yup, pretty much.
Speaking of grunt..!
More engine bay goodness, although this time from the straight six turbo camp – gotta love RBs!
This particular RB26 belongs to this immaculate R32 GT-R – had a chat with the owner, real nice guy, just forgot his name! But don’t take it personally, I just generally suck with everyone’s names haha.
Possibly the coolest P plate I’ve ever seen.
N/A S13s are a popular choice with p-platers in the Queensland scene, this example belonging to Will who waited patiently while Matyi and me mucked around with several settings and angles to get a shot that was half respectable – hope you like it Will!
Panning shots of an RX-7 and Chaser leaving – take not how they still have traction with the road, pay very close attention bogans because you will be the death of our scene if you continue being spedtards ripping skids in the public eye, especially when there’s an undercover cop sitting in a red VW Golf GTI recording all of you as you leave on video… *claps slowly*
Was quite a successful night with bundles of cars rocking up for good times, just a shame about the few brain damaged individuals as mentioned above, but apart from that I can’t wait to see the quality of cars get even better for next week!
