I cruised down to Jamboree with the usual suspects on very early Saturday morning. The light was particularly flattering on the way there, with some clouds obscuring the direct sunlight.

Once we arrived, we quickly set up the Downshift tent and cars, and went for a wander. There were all sorts of hardcore machines, from balls-out railcar dragsters to custom choppers like this one:

Slightly later, there were a couple of motorbike stunt demos…

There were, once again, about a million photographers taking in the action, cars, pits and racing, so I decided to neglect the drag cars, and get my creep on again. Jokes aside, I figured it only fitting to spend a little time to make sure the models looked their best and were in nice light, rather than just blasting away with fill flash or having them in direct sun. After all, they did spend a lot of time on makeup and hair and getting those outfits JUST right.

I stuck around for the first heat of the babe comp, where the ladies gave away a bunch of free stuff and strutted their stuff…

Thankfully we got some cloud cover a little after this, so I had a chance to run around and grab a few more shots in decent light!

Lots more images are on my flickr, didn’t want to put all of them up here.
