Last Saturday was the Porsche Club of Queensland’s second race event of 2011. The event was at Mt Cotton, and it was pretty refreshing to see a course with such great changes in elevation, a thin and winding strip of bitumen in and out amongst the trees, blind corners and wild hairpins after long downhill straights. The track looks like it was designed to maim the inexperienced and overconfident, while complimenting the skilled and their worthy cars.
Guy’s wide-body turbo Cayman is one of the standout cars at every event, and looks great in every single photo I take of it:
Sam in his Martini 911, on an epic wet-run:
I’m loving how the red just pops on this 964, despite the cloudy, rainy weather.
This turbo looked like it would be scary as hell in the wet.
Despite that, the driver was almost lifting the rear inside tyre on wet hairpin corners! Balls of steel.
A man and his faithful companion, waiting for the weather to improve.
This thing has a Hayabusa engine.
It ended up pouring rain, so I decided to head home and dry out. On the way out, I couldn’t help grab another couple of shots.
Next round is at Morgan Park, see you there!
