Rory introduced me to a mate of his, Anthony at the last Harry’s Diner meet. I’d seen Anthony’s car many times at previous meets, and having had an EP82 Toyota Starlet GT previously, I always took notice of the car with Top Secret gold paint covering a genuine TRD bodykit and massively concave satin black Grids. After a few meets, I eventually got to see under the hood, and my oh my, this has to be the cleanest, most comprehensively modified Starlet GT in the state, if not the country.

JE forged pistons, shot peened rods, port & polish, TRD metal head gasket, 100mm throttle body, HKS fuel goodies, Sard regulator, Blitz turbo, wastegate, manifold, it is a Willie Wonka’s Wonderland of tasty bits! Even the parts you can’t see are all quality pieces, with names like ORC for the clutch and lots of Cusco for the suspension (even door bars!).

Doing the paint justice on a chilly, cloudless night with a very average location wasn’t the easiest of jobs, but with the wonder of photoshop, a couple of flashes turned into a light source that I could use to illuminate the whole car.

Actually I was loving everything about this car, and by the sounds of Anthony’s kill stories, he was enjoying it quite a lot too. Not susprising with 300hp at the front treads on high boost! His friend was so excited that he split his brand new $200 jeans straight down the front at the crotch area, his junk hanging out everywhere.. Fortunately, no pictures of this will be forthcoming!

The interior was a lovely place to be, with a padded half cage, black leather seats with red stitching, Momo steering wheel and Apexi EL gauges complementing the Haltech dash.
