Aasbo x Yates Interview
Fredric Aasbo’s NASCAR-powered Toyota 86 Drifter
Beau Yates’ Turbo Toyota 86 Drifter
#Festivalof86 Event Coverage
#Festivalof86 – Dave Vella’s 270kw 86
Once again courtesy of Toyota Australia, I had a chance to take a few photos of Fredric and Beau’s cars after our interview next to the pit garages on the South Circuit. The space was OK, but I spotted an empty grassy hill that worked WAY better for some different images. Here is the result.
Such an aggressive-looking car!
I love the vents on the rear plexiglass window. For some reason, little details like that really get me.
Check out the 86 logos cut into the reinforcing!
Of course the giant wing and vented bootlid also look the part.
Hypertune parts litter the engine bay, which is still home to the original boxer 2.0 litre, which is now turbocharged.
Mmm factory tuning deliciousness.
Definitely no angles this car looks bad from.
