This year I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to cover MotorEx in Melbourne. This was my first time attending and the cars on display did not disappoint. Everything was there from the Liberty Walk GTR to the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine. With Saturday being the first sunny day Melbourne has had in a while, I was keen to make the most of it. The atmosphere of the event was vibrant, with such a huge crowd gathering to admire all of the cars on display throughout the Showgrounds.

Whether you are a JDM fan, hot rod enthusiast or crazy about your Aussie muscle, MotorEx had it all. Even a trio of GT3 race cars were present from Lamborghini and Ferrari.

Cars of all heights were scattered around different areas of the event, from a slammed Honda Civic with its wheels hiding in the tyre wells, to an enormous Ford F-series that would require a small ladder to be able to climb into it!

A specialty at this year’s Motor Ex was the movie section. An enormous array of cars from all your favourite movies were on display, from the Fast and Furious Supra to the classic Back to the Future Delorean.

My personal favourite would have to have been the legendary pink RWB Porsche. I had only ever seen this car in photos, so I was uncertain of how the pink paint job would present in real life, but as soon as I saw the car with my own eyes, I was sold. The combination of a pink car with gold wheels works surprisingly well and in fact looks incredible.

Thanks to Downshift for giving me the opportunity to attend MotorEx. It was an awesome day and I highly recommend everyone attend next year’s show!
