Just wanted to show off some of the highlights of the Porsche Club of Queensland’s latest circuit round at Queensland Raceway. Having lent my long lens to a friend for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, my housemate Daniel was kind enough to let me use his 500D and 55-250 combo. I was curious to see if I’d struggle with the gear, when compared to my 5D2. While it was definitely less convenient, it was certainly doable.
Anyway, that’s enough talk. Lets kick off with a 997 GT3 RS in the pits.
Enormous brakes on an upgraded 996 GT2.
One of the Coopers’ 993 GT2s.
I was fortunate enough to be invited to ride passenger in their other, hot pink 993 GT2. They’re also about to take delivery of a third! One can never have too many Porsches.
Sam’s finally finished painting his PET911, and it was looking mint. The original plan was to go with Martini stripes that swept over the rear guards, but widebody flares would’ve been necessary. So smooth, so glossy!
This turbo 930 is immaculate, and rumoured to be pushing 500hp.
One of Dellow Racing’s cup cars, usually piloted by Will.
And the other, newer 997 model.
Last year’s circuit round winner, SNAG, with Antony at the helm.
The racing was close!
The original plan was enduro racing, but unfortunately this didn’t eventuate. We did continue until dusk however.
I wish we had 12/24 hour enduros here in Queensland. Not only would it be exciting, but the photos would be fantastic, especially at dusk and dawn!
Check out the glowing brakes on the lardass in the background.
That’s it for another month of Porsche action.
