When I first saw Rossi Kircher’s Z33, it was riding low onĀ gold Volk TE37s 19×9.5+22 fronts and 19×10.5+22 rears and I thought it looked pretty sweet, but couldn’t help thinking it was missing just that little something. When Rory and I saw it a few months ago at a Harry’s Diner Thursday night meet, it was unexpectedly rocking one of my favourite wheels, Work VS-XX. Together with the Vertex kit and carbon fibre goodies (roof lip, intake duct and interior bits), they set the blue off perfectly. I immediately decided that it needed to be shot, whether for one of our local mags or Downshift, it didn’t matter, but I had to make some nice images of it.
After making some enquiries I found out that it was not just a pretty face either, hiding a HKS 3037pro single turbo kit in the cramped bay! The turbo is responsive and well-considered. You wouldn’t expect him to leave the engine work half done, and backing mods include an ORC super single clutch, 660cc HKS injectors, Tial 50mm BOV, GReddy boost controller and a replacement Haltech ECU, to make 360rwhp at 7psi of boost. On the auxiliary front, clutch lines are braided, and a Trust oil cooler sit at the front. A Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust finishes off the engine and driveline package.
As I found out, the wheels are absolutely massive Work VS-XX, in 20×9.5″ +6 at the front and 20×10.5″ +0 at the rear, sitting super flush! To be able to fit this sizing nicely, the car is riding on Tanabe Sustec Pro dampers and a bunch of SPC rods and arms and bolts.
Unfortunately most of the goodies are buried in the engine bay, so I focused on the exterior. And because of its rounded booty and glossy blue paint, it was important to take care with the surroundings, and after much scouting, I eventually found a nice clean location to shoot it.
If you like it, it’s for sale – get in touch with the man himself, here.
