2:30am……..
After I’ve gone and picked up my alarm clock and apologised for throwing it across the room, I’ve realised it’s time to get ready. With a 13 hour drive to Sydney ahead of us from sunny (well.. not for another 3.5~ hours) Brisbane, the Magna workhorse is all loaded and we’re off.
Matyas and I picked up Jared and then met up with Chris from Sirck. Designs & Images and his girlfriend in their car, we started to finally make progress. It was pretty quiet driving for the first few hours. As the sun rose though, so dawned a BEAUTIFUL morning.
Chris was very privileged to have this sight the whole way down. Magna never missed a beat. Gool ol’ girl.
Our Saturday was a write-off. Basically 13 hours of driving to Sydney, drop the trailer off at Campbelltown (no one got stabbed which was amazing), out to dinner, back to motel, sleep. After a warranted sleep in on Saturday night we were straight into it, to the shops to get meat, ice, bread, drinks, condiments and so forth, it was time to head to Fairfield Showgrounds to set up.
Zen Garage and All Stars were first on scene to represent NSW. These guys are putting on awesome events in NSW as well, and Zen Garage is the maddest car/life/culture shop I think I’ve ever been to.
The Capozzi brothers from All Stars had both their mint cars out. The widebody Maloo…
…as well as their crazy S15.
We were straight into it. People started turning up, so we fired the BBQ into action. Matyas was first on chef duties.
Red Bull girls turned up and for some reason I had a craving for Red Bull I’d never had before.
This little beast was one of my favourites of the afternoon.
Over the day we had about 420-450 cars roll through the gates, which was awesome for our first meet. Chris took a TONNE of photos. So instead of rambling on, I’ll let the content do the talking.
This guy got a bit of stick at the Mega Meet on the Friday before Downshift, but was very well behaved. A beautiful S15.

What a huge day. Thanks so much to everyone that came out. We will back down MAY 12! Look out for it! After the meet we had a late night and an earlier morning. Going the New England Highway home it took us 16 hours. This scene just outside Warwick made every second worthwhile.
