Loz from Hardtuned.net organised another track day for Sunday, 29 July 2012. As the day dawned bright and clear, I opted to take my time and sleep in. I know some of the boys got to the track nice and early, but I had to pick up a friend before heading over, as well as have some breakfast. When we finally turned up, Bobby was making his way around the track in his time attack AP1 S2000. Not a bad start to the day, I must say.
In addition to track time, a wet skid pan was on offer for anyone game to try. By the look of it, pretty much everyone had a good go, except those with front wheel drives. Haha suckers..
Here’s Mitch Hemming in his friend’s R32.
And Levi, who was kind enough to lend me his helmet for a run…
…in Nik’s 997 Porsche turbo. Insanity ensued.
The FFamily and Downshift boys made a strong showing.
Michael Coppola also brought out his MX-5. This thing gets thrashed every time I see him.
Apparently this thing is making a LOT of power.
It wasn’t just skidpan, with some of the drifters making a spectacle of themselves.
There was no shortage of exotics, with 2 of Australia’s 10 Lexus LF-As being present. You could call that a pretty good turnout.
Paul in his supercharged K20 EG Civic was absolutely cooking on-track.
And I’m pretty happy with this tandem shot of him and our very own Andrew Foy in HIS B16 EG Civic.
Here he is by himself, looking like the vampire dude out of Twilight.
Ash’s EG, also with a K20. His has ITBs rather than forced induction.
Daniel Batchelor’s S15 always looks the goods.
This black WRX was really struggling on the skidpan, with masses of understeer. Not that I can talk, I had plenty in the S2000 also.
The white Evo was doing significantly better, doing 4-paw slides all morning.
To finish off with, this is one car you’ve seen unless your head’s been in the sand. Charlie’s wild MX-5.
I also wanted to add a few more images from Chris Howard, otherwise known as sirck. Enjoy!
Love how aggressive this 15 looks.
Batchelor’s 15 again. Worth looking at twice.
Not having the best luck, the driver rolled this car. Thankfully he’s OK!
Open top motoring, like a Sir.
Can’t wait for the next Norwell day!
