Hot on the heels of our previous story for the press event of the Toyota 86’s 1st birthday, we were also invited to the public event in Sydney, called #Festival of 86.
Toyota put on a great meet for both 86 and AE86 owners at their headquarters in Caringbah in the city’s south.
Very similar to our own DS meets, they had a DJ on the decks, sausage sizzle & cold drinks, as well as a giant 86 logo-shaped cake for everyone!
But what really stole the limelight was Tada-san signing autographs for the owners! The line was at least 50 deep for the 2 hours we were there..
Some incredible classics…
…sitting next to both 86s and BRZs…
…some modified, some not.
And some even belonging to celebrities.
All in all, a great afternoon out… And with factory backing like that, it definitely makes me want to get an 86. Cheers for a great event Toyota!
