Thanks to Ôtô XeMáy, I had an opportunity to get media access to the Vietnam Motorcycle Show 2016 yesterday. I thought I would go and check it out because Asia generally, but especially Vietnam is so huge on motorbikes. I wasn’t disappointed! Walking into the hall, I was greeted by the already-famous Kawasaki H2! Just look at those wheels!
Yes, this thing is supercharged. Just in case an NA superbike wasn’t quick enough, and you want to die quicker.
There were cool new nakeds on offer from basically every manufacturer, from Yamaha to Ducati.
Jewel-encrusted Yamaha scooter. Obviously.
There were also MotoGP bikes on display on virtually every stand.
Mmm the carbon details!
I think Honda’s nailed the graphics on Marc Marquez’ #93 MotoGP RC213V!
Exotic Termi exhaust.
And another RC213V with a different livery.
Suzuki’s #41.
And Aprilia’s #19.
But back to Honda for a minute. If you haven’t seen these things before, check out this beast – the MSX (Grom in the USA). 125ccs of awesomeness!
Honda Batmobile / Vultus
Custom Honda on the Total stand.
More Aprilia
RSV4 RF!
I noticed that there were FAR more promo girls at this event than other car/bike events I’ve been to. Quality was certainly there too!
It seems the Monster girls are amazing no matter which country you go to.
I decided to head outside to check out the Ducati paddock…
…and fell in love immediately.
After picking my jaw up off the floor, I headed back in for the last section of the hall. I think this was all-electric, and all-rad.
I want to show you guys this, because as much as it doesn’t look crazy or fast, this bike is immensely important. The brand new Honda Super Cub, in both petrol and electric versions. “Why?”, you ask? The Super Cub is the most produced motor vehicle IN HISTORY, in continuous production since 1958.* Let that sink in for a second.
And then feast your eyes on how gorgeous the details are!
The white one in the background is actually an electric EV-Cub, with motors in the hubs driving both wheels, aiding stability.
Suzuki GSX-S 1000
And last but not least, a beautiful retro Yamaha.
